This hands-on workshop will outline the importance of postural analysis in programming STOTT PILATES workouts. Ideal posture, as well as flat back, sway back and kyphosis-lordosis posture will be reviewed. How muscle imbalances typically manifest in static posture will be covered and participants will practice conducting postural analysis. Finally, common Pilates exercise choices and modifications to accommodate these imbalances in order to work toward restoring balance in the musculature over time will be explored and experienced. Limited to 30 registrants.

This fully interactive hands-on workshop reveals the functional anatomy of the lumbo-pelvic hip girdle and teaches you how faulty movement patterns and/or biomechanics lead to structural malalignments. You will learn how to assess imbalances of the lumbo-pelvic hip girdle, learn an array of corrective exercises, and have the opportunity to create your own corrective exercises.
