FUNKtional Flow

Presented by Rocky Heron

In this fun, funky, and functional flow, you’ll move through a somewhat familiar vinyasa sequence but take some detours outside of the business-as-usual space. Step a bit outside the box and play your way through some new, multi-planar, diverse movements that aren’t traditionally explored. The class buoyantly weaves standing postures, hip openers, and accessible arm balance options. Along the way, learn innovative techniques in a wide range of asana and transitions, all while deepening your knowledge around the mechanics of your magnificent body. This session is a great opportunity to diversify your practice within a familiar framework.

Join internationally recognized yoga educator Rocky Heron for an illuminating workshop aimed at expanding your understanding of yoga poses and exercise science. In this session, we will explore movement regressions and progressions, and how they can inform our approach to sequencing, pose variations, and development of your own innovative mobility drills. Many teachers attempt to memorize specific modifications and variations for the vast array of yoga poses. This workshop will empower you with the tools to create your own sequences, thereby increasing your ability to respond, adapt, and problem solve for your students in real time, as well as create your own unique and intelligent classes.
