IDEA Member Spotlight: Winter 2022
Meet three IDEA members who truly shine.

Melanie Bibens
Member Since 2011 :: Fredericksburg, Virginia
“I was born loving the feeling of moving and pushing myself hard in physical activities,” says Melanie Bibens. After excelling in high school sports and then moving from the military to law enforcement, she found a new way to do what she loved and help others.
“I became an IDEA member after hearing about it in a college sports fitness course and was instantly excited about all IDEA taught,” she says. “In learning about fitness I fell in love with CrossFit® and its functional fitness aspects.” Last year, she became a coach at Bio Community Fitness. “All the ‘great feels’ are there from my community of athletes who value not just my knowledge and welcoming spirit but in our shared friendships. In the end, the friendships form our second families!”
Lynn Anderson, PhD
Member Since 1989 :: Sarasota, Florida
“Dr. Lynn” Anderson inspires her clients every day to discover “the secrets of how to bring health, happiness, wealth, peace and fulfillment into your life.” It’s a journey she’s been on professionally for more than 32 years with unwavering dedication to staying certified and educated and upholding standards. She also believes in the power of mentorship and mutual support, and she encourages
other fitness and wellness professionals to be a friend and role model for others. You might even say this is good karma. “Life becomes what life does,” she says. “Learn to work your karma so your life works for you, and get on the pathway to prosperity.”
Andres Calderon
Member Since 2015 :: Bellevue, Washington
Andres Calderon describes himself as “a big fan of IDEA,” and he has some great advice for new members: “Harness your curiosity, and explore all IDEA has to offer,” he says. “It is a fun place to read, ask questions and learn new skills in our industry.” Since 2011, Calderon has served the industry—and his Bellevue community—by working with contractors to offer fitness and wellness programs to the general public through the fitness center at the South Bellevue Community Center. And how does he Inspire the World to Fitness®? “I am motivated by the shared health challenges we face as a society,” he explains, “and the desire to help others navigate through small behavioral changes, movement and positive thinking.”
