Making a Difference with Jeanne Osgood and FitnessArts

Greetings Esteemed Fitness and Yoga Professionals and Happy Active Aging Month with IDEA! Thank you for taking a moment out of your teaching schedule to allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jeanne Missey Osgood and my passion is working with fitness professionals who want to learn creative teaching techniques and motivational approaches when training the aging adult.
Just log on to our website, FitnessArts.com for free quarterly mini-courses for Active Aging, beginning in June. If you enjoy my teaching style and are informed by what you learn, we would be honored if you could consider earning your CEC’s with us. We are offering a new, user friendly, cost-effective,100% online course: Pilates Teacher Training for Active Aging!
But first a bit about your instructor, Jeanne. She is the owner and director of Fitness Arts. She has been teaching clients since first being certified with IDEA (before ACE was born) way back in 1987 and has been training fitness professionals through many modes of movement since 1990. For the last 20 years, she has specialized in teaching both active aging clients and instructors who work with this population. She has a Master of Arts in Higher education. Her focus during graduate school was on how adults learn and develop across the older adult lifespan.

Other bits — she is a certified group fitness instructor, personal trainer and medical exercise specialist with the American Council on Exercise (ACE). She is also a registered yoga teacher and teacher trainer (RYT 500, E-RYT 200). She was certified in Mat Pilates and Comprehensive Pilates Apparatus through PhysicalMind in 2004. For 25 years she has continued learning and teaching and has logged well over 2000 hours teaching Pilates clients and instructors alike. She has also developed a Pilates Teacher Training Program. (We believe, our program is one of the best in the field). Jeanne’s specialties include the Foundations and Fundamentals of Movement for Aging Adults, Yoga on the Pilates Apparatus, Yoga-Pilates Mat Fusion, Pilates for Active Aging, and Creative Dance (line dance, tap dance and liturgical dance) for Active Agers.
George Eliot once said, “it’s never too late to be what you might have been.” Jeanne takes that philosophy to heart and has seen first-hand that older age can be the most rewarding years of life because one has more time, wisdom, and resources. Our mantra is “When one is physically fit it is so much easier to be creatively fit!” You’ll find touches of Jeanne’s creative side with her favorite artistic activity, performance with puppets and puppet building workshops.
